And We're Off!

This is a small but significant start to plans for a phased masterplan of works at Gad’s Hill School.

Grade I listed Gad’s Hill Place forms part of the school estate and is the home of Charles Dickens. He lived there for 13 years until his death in 1870. The purchase of the house was the fulfilment of a childhood dream for Dickens, and the house and its surroundings were a major source of inspiration for his novel Great Expectations.

The masterplan will include an affordable and long-term programme of works for the Upper School with sustainability promoted at every stage.
