20 Things We Like – Video 18: 3 Slip, The Historic Dockyard, Chatham

The magnificent 3 Slip is among the most remarkable architectural achievements now surviving at the Historic Dockyard. Built in 1838, the immense covered slip was, at the time, the largest wide span timber structure in Europe. It was used to build wooden vessels in an environment protected from the elements. In episode 18 of our film series, Kasan Goh visits 3 slip and explains why it’s one of the 20 things we like.
