Planning approved for three Primary First Trust school projects
We are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted for three Primary First Trust projects at Westcourt Primary School and Nursery in Gravesend, Lessness Heath Primary School in Belvedere, and Wayfield Primary School in Chatham.
Westcourt Primary School and Nursery is a two-form entry primary school in Gravesend, Kent. The existing pedestrian entrance to the school is unwelcoming and involves crossing the driveway during drop-off and pick-up times. Access to the nursery is narrow and very congested at peak times. The proposed works will improve safety with reduced crossings. We will also create a new feature entrance to the nursery and provide generous landscaped waiting and seating areas at the entrance to the school and nursery.
Lessness Heath Primary School is a two-form entry primary school in Belvedere within the London Borough of Bexley. This project improves safety by moving traffic movements from the main entrance in the north of the site to a new vehicular entrance and carpark to the south. Redundant carparks in the northern half of the school grounds will be converted into new play areas.
Wayfield Primary School is a thriving Apple Distinguished School in Chatham, Kent. The school is oversubscribed and expanding. Part of the school’s expansion plans is this project to create an overflow carpark and an extension on a tricky hilltop site to create three new classrooms.
“With expert advice from Clay Architecture, we were delighted to obtain planning permission for some exciting development projects at three of our schools. We look forward to working closely with Clay Architecture to bring these projects to fruition. They deeply understand our needs and requirements as a client and consistently provide innovative, creative and cost-effective solutions to school enhancement projects”. Andrew Moorhouse, Chief Executive, The Primary First Trust.
